Assurances weren't enough
blank looks
choices we didn't have
decaying into
earth and dust
blank looks
choices we didn't have
decaying into

fighting for release
going through the motions
had we known the
impact would we be
justified in
knowing the
lies we were told
meaningless
needless
obvious
pandering
questioning the
relevance...
still
truth can be powerful
unadulterated
vulnerable
we exist as multiples
xeroxed until we fade into
years...finally reaching our
zenith
